Acro Pilot.prc

I am having problem performing an hotsync with my T3.
This is a new problem and not related to any recently installed
applications.

When I start to hotsync, when it gets to " Synchonising with Acro
Pilot.prc", the process will stop.

Then this message pops up:
"Fatal Alert
Preferences.c Line:271
Preferences DB Open Error"

The funny thing is that even if I delete Acro Pilot with Filez, it still
comes back from no where the next time I try to sync.

Please kindly help me !!

jessica

I believe it's a file from Acrobat Reader. Make sure you delete this in your backup
directory if it's there. Also you may need to unistall the desktop Acrobar Reader part.
Eventually you will put a wooden stake through its heart and the annoying file will die.

Yes, that is correct, it is part of the Acrobat Reader for Palm. I had
a real bout with Adobe Tech support over that. I installed it on WinME
and it did not show up in the Windows Add/Remove list. Adobe refused
to assist since they said the program does not support ME. Anyway, I
managed to get it uninstalled with a 3rd Party program called "Remove
3.1.1"

http://www.soft32.com/download_14187.html

Also, after doing an uninstall, there was still a folder in my Palm
User Directory (sorry, don't recall the name of the folder), but that
is where the Acrobat Reader conduit was getting the acropilot.prc file
to re-install after every hotsync. Remove that folder, remove
acropilot.prc out of your user backup folder and that should solve it.
It did for me. And, yes, this file is so well-hidden that FileZ
couldn't find it. Grrr! ;)

Oh, you 'found' it with FleZ. Maybe I forgot, but I didn't think FileZ
even could see it. In any case, very glad to be free of that pesky
file ;)
