Gaming graphics card upgrade advice needed

I bought the following rig from a friend in 2010 when he bumped into financial issues.

PSU: 700W 80

RAM: 2X 2 GIG DDR# (Kingston 99U5471-001.A01LF 1600mhz)
Tower Case (2x 120mm Fans)
Network Adaptor: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
DVD ROM: ATAPI iHAS324 B ATA Device
Disk Drive: ST500DM002-1BD142 ATA Device
Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Basic 32-bit

It worked ok until the newer games came out, I am no guru and therefore need some advise in upgrading the rig to play games like Skyrim, D3, WoW on higher settings and increase the fps on BF3 etc. My resolution is 1920x1080.

Any suggestions on what GPU to upgrade to and other nescasary upgrades as I am on a budget and would need to try and still utelise some of the existing components.

your cpu can handle 7770 at most, but it is limited by your unknown Powersupply

i will say 7750 for safety reason

for higher GPU power, you need PCU MOBO PSU upgrade

Thanks for the response, the PSU is Aerocool 700w 80+ if that helps.

OK 7770 to go, above that, old athlon architecture will bottleneck

thanks, would I be able upgrade the CPU to say a Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3Ghz 1155pin or would I the also need a new MOBO

You would need a new M/B. A 7770 will not bottleneck your cpu btw. However if I was going to spend some money to upgrade right now I would go here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

Then put the rest of the money into a GPU. Unless your budget is under $200. Then just pick up an HD7850,7870 or GTX660,Ti if you can afford that much.

Thanks for the advice will most probably get a new GPU and upgrade the entire rig at a later stage as it seems that the MOBO is getting outdated along with the CPU

This card suit my budget $140 would this particular one suffice?
Asus ATI HD7770 DirectCU PCI-E 3.0, 1GB 128-bit GDDR5,DVI-I,HDMI,2xMini DP

or would I need to add a few bucks more and get the Sapphire HD7850 OC 2G 256Bit GDDR5 PCIE3.0 DVI HDMI DSP
for $210 assuming that it will work with my existing setup without complications.
