NEED HELP WITH GPU

I recently bought an AMD Radeon HD 6670 and whenever I try to play games right before it crashed i get an error message saying...
"The display driver has stopped responding and has recovered."
I sometimes get that error message when i am on the desktop or in other programs, and my mouse cursor disappears and i cant do anything. I have all the latest drivers for my motherboard, GPU, and sound card and i downloaded directx 11.
Is this a hardware issue, or a software issue. If you know anything please post...

CPU: AMD FX-6100 3.3Ghz
GPU: Radeon HD 6670
Motherboard: Asrock 970 extreme3
PSU: Corsair GS700
OS: Windows Vista
RAM: 8gb DDR3 1600mhz
