two more free office alternatives:
abiword word processor:
http://www.abisource.com/
libreoffice:
http://www.libreoffice.org/
libreoffice is a full office suite. it spun off open office.
you can download a trial version of latest office suite and use it for free for a certain period of time:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads
after the trial period is over, microsoft will ask you for license key. you can buy one from microsoft and keep using it after the trial period expires.
you can also download file viewers like word viewer, excel viewer to open (but not edit) word and excel files. the version you mentioned are too old to be found. latests ones are better anyway.
