I am fairly confident that this is a stupid question, but, is it possible to use old style PC133 SDRAM in the DDR slots in the latest Slot A motherboards? The reason I ask is that I find myself forced to buy a new motherboard but can't yet afford to upgrade CPU, memory etc. So I want a board that will utilise my existing components but will also allow me to upsize to a shiny new AthlonXP in a few months time.

i'm not an expert but it seems to me that pc133 dimms are 168 pins and the ddr's are 184. Common sense tells me that they wont even fit in a ddr slot. But i have been wrong before ;)

There are two (that I know of) boards that can take both types: ECS K7S5A and Asus A7A266.
Most boards cannot.
