GPU Problems.

First of all my pc is 3 years old and here are my specs:

ATI Radeon 5770 HD
8gb DDR3 rams
ASUS Crossair III Formula
AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
PSU Cougar 700 CM
Windows 7 Ultimate 64x

I am a heavy gamer, my GPU was overclocked to 940\1400 at some point and it worked really fine for a while then i started to get random resets(not even sure if they are GPU related because the GPU never ever overheated it's always under 80c) so i started lowering clock settings over time and i am now at 900\1400 and just got Hitman but i am unable to play. I had very low FPS and i read that the game isn't well optimized so i toned down few settings and started getting great FPS then my Directx crashed and i read that i should turn off depth of field because it's a game problem, done that and played for about half an hour and i got vertical black and grey lines and i was told that i need to enable vertical sync and that's what i have done but just as i launched the game again i got blue screen of death and restart.

Now what is exactly going on? is it windows? GPU? PSU?

I don't really get this with other games(Recently played BF3, AC3, Black Ops 2, FM13, Fifa13).

I also would like to know if the random resets i get are related to the GPU overclocking.

More about problems
  1. When you overclock a computer, expect problems.
When you use an asus motherboard, expect problems.
  2. Well what error did the BSOD give you?
  3. I am afraid i can't remember, trying to search for .dmp files atm maybe i'll find it.
  4. Not sure if i have done it right but i searched for dmp files around the same time i crashed and i found 3-4 and one of them is called HMA(Hitman Absolution) so i thought it's this one and i used the windows debugger tool to come up with this
