Hello. I have recently upgraded my PC and am looking to change my graphics card(buying it last cuz didn't have enough money). Current specs:

Asus Striker II Formula>>>Asus Rampage IV Extreme
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400>>>Intel i7 3820
Asus Triton 78>>>Zalman CNPS 12X
4gb 800MHz Kingston HyperX>>>16gb 1866MHz Kingston HyperX
Intel 520 120GB SSD
Asus GTX560ti Top
CM Stacker 830
CM Real Power Pro 850W
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Samsung LT27A950(1080p,3D) monitor and numerous HDD's.

Money issue is not a concern for me, but buying cheaper for the same perfomance would be good too. For me the pros of GTX680 is the driver support, physx whereas HD7970 appeals me for design and wider memory bandwith. Furthermore I would like to know which card is a better 3D performer. Thank you in advance, waiting for the answer.

For non 3D games, the Matrix 7970 is a better option but if you plan on using 3D feature of that monitor, go with the GTX 680 TOP for better 3D support. Also, at 1080p resolution, the 7970 Matrix is about the same in performance as the GTX 680 TOP. Only at extreme high resolution starting from 2560 1440 or higher, the extra memory bandwidth of the Matrix will make it faster than the GTX 680.

Since money is obviously not a big issue for you, you should take a look at the 2560 1440 resolution monitor such as the Asus PB278Q or Dell U2713HM, both are equally good and once you game at 2560 1440 resolution, you will never look back at the 1080p.

Yeah, I choose the 2011 over 1155 just because of the sli support, although I liked the 3770k more. I just got this monitor like a year ago, so I think I will not be upgrading it soon. I have heard that 7970 Matrix Platinum is handpicked. Does it make it any special? BTW, I will surely make it crossfire or sli when the prices go down with the next gen gtx7** and hd8*** coming out. Which will perform better in dual mode? I want to prepare for Crysis 3 lol. And I'm kinda concerned with 680 having only 2gigs. Far cry 3 wants 1gb now. Maybe crysis 3 will want 2gigs for medium requirements? It's a very hard call for me between choosing these too. I have one more week to decide and I make the order.
