I am looking to upgrade the graphics on a HP Pavilion a6114x Desktop. Information on this PC can be found http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01114300&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=3455704 and http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01077676&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=3455704#N52 . I don't intend to do any serious gaming, just basic computing and some programming. The reason I am upgrading is because I want to be able to have dual screens with extended desktop, as it makes programming significantly easier. Do you have any recommendations? I am not looking to spend too much... hopefully around $50-$75 for both a video card and a PSU. Everything is still original in the computer, with the exception of the 2GB of ram that I added.

Well Antec Vp-450W is 30$ now so that leaves 20-45 for gpu.

If not this will do good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130656&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

I had a similiar computer with 4200+ CPU oc to 2.5 and i had a 5450.I was doing some basic gaming and CS4. It was really good. If u get that 630 would be just great !

So would you go with the 9800, the 5450, or the 630?

If you don't need gpu power, the 5450 which has a really lower power consumption and lower price is the best choice.
Also you need a psu with two 6-pin with 450w for the 9800gt and i don't know if you have that.
The 5450 doesn't need that like i said...the 630 gt will be better in terms of performance/same power consumption but it's more expensive

Not CrapMaster as PSU. Only M series are good.

I suggest Antec VP 450W which is 30$ right now.

And 9800Gt is an old gen card. I dont recommend it.

Gt 630 would be a better choice or Hd 5450/6570

Aren't all of these an improvement over my current video card? For what I do, it is just fine for me, so as long as I stay in the same quality as that, I only care about having the dvi/hdmi for extended desktop.
