I am looking to upgrade the graphics on a HP Pavilion a6114x Desktop. Information on this PC can be found http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01... and http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01... . I don't intend to do any serious gaming, just basic computing and some programming. The reason I am upgrading is because I want to be able to have dual screens with extended desktop, as it makes programming significantly easier. Do you have any recommendations? I am not looking to spend too much... hopefully around $50-$75 for both a video card and a PSU. Everything is still original in the computer, with the exception of the 2GB of ram that I added.

So between the 5450 and the two you sent, which should I go with? Considering the 5450 is $8 after rebate... will it get me what I need?

Believe me or not the 9800 gt mops the floor vs the 5450, the 9800gt 1gb is much better, but it has a really higher power consumption and a higher price.

So would you go with the 9800, the 5450, or the 630?

If you don't need gpu power, the 5450 which has a really lower power consumption and lower price is the best choice.
Also you need a psu with two 6-pin with 450w for the 9800gt and i don't know if you have that.
The 5450 doesn't need that like i said...the 630 gt will be better in terms of performance/same power consumption but it's more expensive

Aren't all of these an improvement over my current video card? For what I do, it is just fine for me, so as long as I stay in the same quality as that, I only care about having the dvi/hdmi for extended desktop.

The 5450 is a decent card and will give you the dual monitor setup you want. I could play battlefield play for free with it on max at 1280x1024. I just upgraded to a 7750.
