Windows 7 on tv settings

so i have a 40inch 1080p lcd sony tv, i have a pc hooked up through hdmi coming from an amd radeon 7870 card. when i first booted the pc it formatted to the screen size with no black bars, now after using it for a day i'm getting complete letter boxing. any idea how to fix this? i just want the pc screen to fit my tv at highest resolution. i just downloaded amd catalyst beta 12.11 anything in that that can help? thanks for the input!

Check the screen resolution. Right-click a blank area on the desktop and click Screen resolution. It should match exactly the TV resolution.

If this does not resolve the issue, then using CCC set overscan setting to 0%.

yeah it was the overscan, i started messing around in the catalyst and overscan did the trick. thanks for your help!
