Optical drive issue

Hello, I put together this build recently and got everything working, but my optical drive won't open.
It blinks and does nothing...
I read somewhere that it may be due to damage? but i never hit it or bumped it...
Also, when i put a paperclip in the emergency opening, still nothing happens.
From what i understand, the wiring is good. (1 power SATA connected to the PSU and 1 connected to the motherboard)
Should I just replace the one I bought or is there a way I could fix it w/o having to

You sometimes have to push quite hard to open it through the hole.
Though if the button is broke, that would be valid ground for an RMA.

You could bust open the drive and check the internals to see if there are any obvious problems. There should be small popouts on either side of the drive that you can push in to take off the front plate. Screws will be somewhere to take off the outer casing.

You were right, I was too gentle with the little hole
It's now opened
I'll try to open and see the internals of the drive..

Alright..so I made it work
I simply changed the cable that routed the PSU with the drive!

Huh, wouldnt have picked that as the reason. Maybe that SATA connector is defective...

Anyway, good to hear the problems fixed.
