Is there any difference in the cable type between ATA-66 and ATA-100? Someone told me you needed a higher quality cable for 100.

Also what is the maximum length that an ATA-100 cable can be?

Thanks,

Dai

The cable is the same. To tell them apart from other IDE ribbon cables you have a blue, grey, and black connector on the cable.

They are 18 inches (45.72cm), 80wire/40pin cable.

ATA66 and ATA100 cables are the same - they have more threads than the ATA33 cables if you want to differentiate them. They also feel more "crisp" compared to the latter.
