Rebuilding my computer could use a little expertise

I threw together a okay gaming PC around a year ago and it still is running like a champ but sometimes i notice i can't play newer games on a high quality even medium, for example Borderlands 2, Far cry 3, and even The Elder Scrolls.

Id love to throw around 500$ more dollars into it sometime so ill post the specs down below and and if anyone could tell if somethings wrong with my PC or it just needs some upgrading. I Assure you there are no viruses i have checked many times.

I prefer Nvidia for sure and id say around 5-6 hundred dollars...
