SanDisk Extreme III 1GB is the fastest in a DSLR. Don't know what is "best"
for you.

The speed of the card dictates how many photos can be taken in a burst. I
use an "ordinary" speed card, and still get bursts of 8 or 9 (at
high-quality / JPEG setting) before the camera's buffer finally fills up. If
you don't need to shoot bursts of more than this then for the same $$$
you'll probably be able to get something with twice the capacity (eg 4GB
instead of 2GB).

Personally I use Kingston brand, although it's my belief that there are many
brands (SanDisk is one that comes to mind) that will also give you a
lifetime of trouble free operation. If in doubt, choose one with a good
warranty (preferably a lifetime warranty).

You get what you pay for. I don't have any of the above either but will
also recommend Sandisk. I have a couple Transcend cards that have been good
as well.

I think you should now have the message, Vince.

I, too, would also buy SanDisk - the Ultra II was my most recent purchase.
I would not, by choice, take any of the brands you mention.

If I did, they would have to be at least 66X/60X speed - and most of the
cheap cards come with no speed guarantee.

Personally I wouldn't touch any of them through choice. If I was forced to
choose one, I'd go with the Kingston.

Lexar or Sandisk are your friends.

ATP and Kingston both get their base components from Samsung, and are
likely to be quite similar. I've never used ATP, but Kingston has had
excellent quality control and service when I used them in the past.

PNY, on the other hand, makes junk. I've had so much of their gear go
bad on me I refuse to touch anything they make anymore.

None of the three are going to be anywhere near the performance of a
Sandisk Ultra II chip, though.
