So i want to upgrade from my current 6870 card i got 2 years ago, it's an asus dcu hd 6870 if any of you care, and I'm pretty sure on snagging a 7870 because they are relatively cheap and can be OCed to the performance of a 7950 which is without a doubt a nice card. I was curious what manufacturer I should get the card from. Just as a side note if I missed a manufacturer please post it, I would really like to know which is the best. Also another note I DO NOT WANT A SAPPHIRE CARD, most stats show that 50% of these turn out to be lemons and I really don't want to play the RMA game. Thanks for you opinion!

I prefer MSI and Asus for my GPU brand choice. The ASUS Radeon HD 7870 Direct CU II is a custom implementation of the HD 7870, using a custom heatsink and increased clock rates of 1150 MHz GPU and 1250 MHz memory, which should provide a nice performance boost over the reference design.A video card generous in every respect. With high performance. ASUS is set to make inroads into the hearts of hardcore overclockers thanks to a generous factory overclock and quality components designed to increase the frequency. The MSI Radeon HD 7870 HAWK is the MSI Lightning's smaller brother. It uses the company's signature Twin Frozr II dual-fan cooler. MSI has also increased the clock speeds of the HD 7870 HAWK to 1100 MHz GPU and 1200 MHz memory. Both can be overclocked to a stock 7950 with ease these cards are beast!

I have a Gigabyte 7870, so far I've only been able to use it on my old mobo with a slow FSB(1000MHz), but it has still been an AWESOME card, I could max out MOHW at 1080p, not BF3 though, but I blame that on bad optimization from DICE and the card being bottlenecked by the mobo. I just got a new mobo today and I'm trying to get it set up, I'll let you know how good it is :)

Are you using the 12.11 drivers I hear that they are fantastic and improve performance in alot of games... And does your mono support PCie 3.0x or 2 or 1?
