We have an "L" shaped building. The long leg of the "L" is about 110' and the short leg is about 50'. The router is located on the far end of the long leg. We can not get a signal on the far end of the short leg. There is a cat 5 cable that goes from the router to the intersection of the two legs.

Could we put another router there and be able to pick it up in the fellowship hall at the far end of the L?

You could put what is called a Wireless Bridge at the end of the CAT5 cable (the maximum length for cat 5 patch cable is about 300 feet or so). This essentially acts as a second access point, without having to create 2 separate networks or anything complicated. Here's an example:

Many things can affect the signal strength of 802.11 wireless, such as interference from wires hidden in walls, number of rooms the signal travels through, and even people walking around. Also, some devices are better at picking up a weak signal than others.

50' doesn't sound like too much to ask from your wireless bridge, just check the reviews on any product you purchase.
