600W for GTX 580

Hello guys, I have this system right now:

HIGH-POWER PERFORMANCE 600W
GIGABYTE 870A-USB3 Rev 3.1
AMD PHENOM II X4 B55
GIGABYTE GTX 460 768 MB
And two sata HDDs

And I'm thinking to switch to 580 in a week or about, just started to wonder If my PSU would be able to handle 580?

Here are the specs. There is that 42 amp thing but I'm not sure how I can understand it. It says +12V1=25A, +12V2=25A so it makes 50A combined but still not sure about it.

More about 600w
  1. That will be taking your PSU near the max when gaming gets stressed. The GTX 580 requires 244W maxed out. That relates to 20.3A on the +12V rails along with the 125W unlocked Phenom II. Add another 10A for it. (plus other +12V devices drawing amps) Running a PSU above 80% is generally not recommended for best efficiency. Your PSU will probably be able to "handle" the card OK, but I would recommend upgrading the PSU as soon as possible.

Well, that's what I'll do. Appreciate your help!
  3. Hey dude get look over the new GTX 600 Series. GTX 660 Ti or 7950 will outperform that GTX 580.
Look for them, if in your budget.

Well, I looked over them and I would like to buy them but this even this 580 is used. So, I don't think I can afford even a use 660 Ti :)
  5. If thats the case, then go for gtx 580. It will be awesome.
