I recentley bought a Matrox G450 eTV card for my compaq PC. I want to be able to still use my monitor but also connect a TV and have my desktop displayed on the TV. I am connecting the TV to the graphics card via a normal video connection (phono) and connecting to the TV via the scart socket. I can get the image on the TV but the quality is not very good at all. Does anybody know if a) the image is supposed to be good b)anything I can do to make the image clearer.
Many Thanks

From my experiance, using the TV out to display the desktop on a external TV will give poor quality.
Only way to do it proprly is with a professioanl Grade Scan converter. They are so enpencive that even I don't have one.

you might want to try posting at matrox user forums (matrox site) as they give the best technical support I ever seen on the net.

Going from desktop to TV will always give you poor quality. This is simply because a TV is of lower display quality than a computer monitor. You may get marginally better quality by setting your desktop display settings to 640x480 (since that's the max resolution for a TV display anyway), but even that is doubtful.
