Looking to upgrade PC

Hi,
This is my first post so i'm sorry if i did something wrong. I recently got a radeon 7970 off of my buddy for real cheap and i was hoping to get some suggestions for some potential upgrades to update my computer to match the new 7970.

I would like to spend somewhere around 300-400$ and am looking to try to upgrade Ram cpu and mobo and potentially get ssd. I am running win7 and i am hoping to do some gaming potentially tri monitor set up later on and i would like to do some light overclocking.

Currently have:

Cpu: phenom II x4 945 @ 3. ghz and

4gigs ram

Could you guys let me know what some upgrade options may potentially be.

Thanks!

  2. Unfortunately i happen to live about three hours or more away from the nearest microcenter so that is a no go... because they are pickup only right?

Also i had my eye om this ssd from samsung and its 120gb and a bit cheaper http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147188
  3. This would be alot better
No need to overclock your CPU. It would be just a waste and giving a less lifetime to your CPU

As you have a 7970, which is a High-End card.
A FX6300 would bottleneck it real hard. So a i5 solution is Best
