How to make lcd screen full size with hdmi cable

I have a Acer H213H LCD monitor( My PC is a Gateway DX4200). Can you please tell me how to make my screen full with a hdmi cable? When I hook up the DVI cable, it goes full but gets smaller with the hdmi cable is turned on. I've changed the hdmi cable just to make sure that specific cable was not the issue. Thanks in advance.

Hi, this sounds very similar to a problem that I had when I first connected my tv to my computer via hdmi. If it is the same problem I had, all you have to do is go to the catalyst control center. From there click desktops and displays, then my digital flat panels, then scaling options. Once there, move the slider to 0% and the picture should now fill your screen. I hope this helps.
