Best Graphics Card For 1600x900 games?

Hey,
I was just wondering since it is nearing Christmas what graphics card I should get. I am looking to play games like Black Ops 2, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, as well as GTA 5 when it comes out on medium-high settings at 60 fps. Another issue is I don't want something that will bottleneck my G860 CPU. My budget is around $120-180 and I am willing to buy used if from a reputable vendor. As always, any other suggestions are welcome and ask any questions. So far what I am looking at are a used 6870 or a new 7770 by AMD.
My Build:
Pentium G860 @ 3.0 Ghz
AMD Radeon 6670
4 Gb RAM

For your resolution, a 6670 should be fine.

If you want a better card, I would suggest a 1 GB 7850. It's one of the best priced cards on the market as of now. If you can stretch it to a 78760 for an extra ~$40 you will have a more future-proofed card that is suitable for 1080P, but a 7850 1GB should be fine for now.

Ok thanks. The 6670 lags at times and can't run anything on high really. The responses really help. And none of these will be bottlenecked by g860 correct?

No, it shouldn't. Even a 6770 wouldn't necessarily be fine for 1600x900.

The 7850 is still faster, but if you can't quite afford it and you're okay with getting a used card, that GTX 560 Ti looks like a good option.

You can get a GTX 660 for 174,99$ as Bigcyco1 just showed, that is a nobrainer. GTX 660 is a Little less behind Radeon 7870, not much and a Little ahead of Radeon 7850. But the Radeon 7870 is around 230$ and the Radeon 7850 is around 200$ or a Little below, I can't tell.

It's an offer you can't miss, your CPU will bottleneck it, but you might upgrade that in the future, so why not get the best you can right now?

One more thing, you should check your PSU before buying anything. I concern that your PSU might be not be good enough.

The cheapest 7850 on Newegg is $155 (+shipping) with Far Cry 3 included for free. Since OP is linking used cards I'm guessing we shouldn't go any more expensive than that. I think a 7850 for $155 is better than a GTX 560 Ti for $140, even more so when you throw in Far Cry 3 and the fact that the 7850 is brand new.

Games that follows isn't really the deal here, because Assasins creed follow with GTX 660. WHO cares?

For 20$ he'll get a better GPU with better performance and more vram, a lot of games has begun to use more than 1 GB of vram so it would bottleneck him now and probably also in the future.

Why pass such a great deal?

To stay with what you can afford? Besides, I wasn't comparing to the GTX 660 but the used GTX 560 Ti.

My power supply is a eXtreme Power 500W RS-500-PCAR/P-D3. I am open to upgrading this too but I would rather not becuase I would have to save longer and wait to get the better graphics card

I think you'll be fine, the recommendation from Nvidia is a 450 watt PSU. If not overclocking all should be good! :)

Braggart.

Anyways - Soccerguy, get the best card you can afford, which in this case is that LIMITED TIME ONLY $175 GTX 660. It will be amazing at your resolution. I would get one myself if my wife would let me.

I can't seem to find the 660. Would a 650 be too much of a step down? It is 150$ new.

Radeon HD 7850. It doesn't matter if it's the 1 GB version since you're playing at a relatively low resolution.

I wouldn't go for a powercolor, the xfx is a better brand and the price without rebate still fits his budget and it less 15-20$ with rebate.
For his resolution 1GB will do fine.

At 1600x900 you'd have to go quite nuts with the texture mods to push beyond 1 GB.
