I've had an EVGA 670 FTW (2gb) card and just recently bought a second card http://sg.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/GTX670D... which is a 4gb Asus. I know it's not really recommended to have 2 different cards but my friend was sold it to me at a really cheap price that I just couldn't resist.
Initially I wasn't able to turn on SLi but after installing coolbits everything went fine. I placed the Asus card as the primary (top slot) because i feel that it runs cooler and also because the EVGA card's fan blows air out and i don't want it to be blowing hot air unto the 2nd card (if it was in the top slot).
My questions are:
- I'm seeing 6-10 degrees difference in temp between the 2 cards, with the bottom card (EVGA) being hotter all the time, is this normal?
- since these 2 cards are running at different clock speeds, should I overclock my Asus a little bit to match the 2nd card?
- what are good benchmarking tools that would be able to show me the performance of both cards at the same time and/or separately
- any other tips to maximize performance, I don't really know much as this is my first time to SLi
