This is my first build from Tigerdirect, I was thinking multi-gpu but I am not totally sure. What do you guys think I should do right now, I want to try and be future proof and I could go multi-gpu with this budget? Do I need the 3770K for a gaming rig? I want an SSD definitely for OS/Boot/Games.

No need for i7 in a purely gaming machine.

What games do you play? Resolution? Number of monitors?
  2. I am playing games on a 24'' LED Acer monitor right now at 1080p. I play Battlefield 3, Planetside 2, Guild Wars 2, bunch of MMORPGS and FPS games. I play A LOT of different games. I want to be able to max games out at 1080p without any issues, which is why I was thinking of the multi-gpu setup and it future proofs me a bit more when the new 7xx series and 8xxx series comes out in a few months. Ok I will scale back to an i5 3570K, first of all. I might even go with a double/tri monitor setup in the next couple of months, but not entirely sure at the moment.
  3. An i7 CPU only makes sense if you´re planning to do video editing/rendering, among other heavy duty multitasks.

If it is for gaming then get the i5-3570K http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2373004&Sku=I69-3570K

You won´t need a 5.1 Sound Card, as your motherboard has 7.1 Channels audio feature.
  4. Ok I will ditch the sound card then. I am gonna go with the 3570K. Should I look at getting two gpus for a multi-gpu setup, I think it makes sense with my budget. It also will future proof me for the influx of the 7xx/8xxx new video cards from Nvidia/AMD.

7970 instead huh? idk about that, I like NVidia better anyway, smoother gameplay and no issues with SLi compared with Crossfire I'm hearing.
  9. Your build looks solid! :)

With the 850W PSU you´ll have room for your 2xSLI plus overclocking your i5 3570K.

    Enjoy!
  10. ur build has my approval as well
