I have an opportunity to land this discontinued card....Evga GTX 460 superclocked

for like 50 bucks.....

Im currently looking to build an HTPC that i can game with...i was originally looking at some HD 7750s and 7770s which are priced between 90 and 120....some ive been looking at

I came across that deal on the GTX460 and im not sure if i should jump on it. Its the last one they have. I know its an older card but i think it sold around 190 when it was in stock.....so to get it for 50 bucks i find it hard to pass up

Id be gaming on a 1080P HDTV....(60hz) Not a big time gamer at the moment but i wanna build my HTPC to handle games should i become more of a gamer.

More about 7750 maybe 7770
  1. Get the gtx 460 if you can get one for $50, otherwise get a radeon hd 7770 or gtx 650 ti $130
  2. The GTX460 is more powerful, but also uses way more power! So the thing is, will your HTPC be running all the time etc.?
  3. 650 ti cannot compete with the 7770 for the same price. The 7770 is better almost across the board.

I have IO digital cable from cablevision here on long island. From what i uderstand im limited in my options with a tv tuner. Would probably need a calbe card setup and it sounds difficult to get to work.....

so i dont plan on having this thing running alll the time. using it as a tv tuner/dvr would be the only reason to leave it on all the time right???? unless im missing something

Bluerays...pics..vids...gaming....some web surfing...that will be its use

    No:

    650 < 7770 = 460 1gb < 650 ti

This! Just keep in mind the 460 is power hungry.
  7. Im leaming towards the HD7770. Im a bit of a tree hugger...so the lower power is a plus....plus the GTX 460 is like 2 or 3 years old if im correct.

That Dang 51 dollar price tag keeps popping up in my brain though...i cant shake it
