I will mainly be doing video/graphics rendering and editing. Software: Cinema 4d, Premiere, AE, PS, Syntheyes.

Can I get away with using this case as an alternative: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?nm_mc=AFC-Te...

Will the RAM I selected fit in either case? Will the cooler interfere?

Thanks!

given you are under 1000 dollars in the budget, id get a fx CPU. uses a quite a bit more power than a intel chip but it is 150 dollars cheaper overall. the 660 can be used for CUDA accleration with the creative suite

I'm pretty firm on purchasing an Intel chip at this point. I don't mind spending the extra $$ (by budget is around $1200).

How do you feel about the 570 vs the 600 series?

660 performs like a 580 for half the power.

if you had a 1200 dollar budget, you could have then used a WAY better gpu than the gtx 650

just telling you. you pay double for the i7 but you only get about 8-10% more performance.

But I thought the CPU was more of a factor than GPU in terms of video rendering.

no. they are just as important. if a q6600 CPU (pretty old but respectable in its day) + a gtx 670 can equal the performance of a i7 3820, it will make a large impact in your rendering times
