Forum Home Theatre Legacy : Laser Disc Players Laserdisc database??

Being somewhat new to laserdiscs I'm wondering if their is a database
or some sort of reference book that lists what titles are available on
laserdisc and in what TV systems (NTSC or PAL) they were made.
Perhaps something similar to IMDB?

At least, it's my target!

We passed 36000 titles recently and I have still enough pending to go
up to 38000.

Any help is appreciated,

Yes, the database is quite comprehensive. I use it regularly for title
research. I'm hoping that you will get some help with cover-art scans, I like
being able to see artwork.

Thanks for the quick response and link to LDDB! Just what I was
looking for. One title I am particularly interested in is not listed.
It's "Urgh! A Music War" released in 1981. I know it was released in
PAL format, but am wondering if anybody knows if it was ever released
in NTSC.

Wow.
I remember "Urgh! A Music War" from the early 80's...but only as LP.
Wouldn't even in a million years have thought it was released as
LaserVision/LaserDisc.

Thanks for that great piece of information.
Now...it's hunting season ;o)

Kindest regards

I'm almost 100% certain it was never released on NTSC LD - the only one
I've ever seen has been the PAL one. It was released on NTSC VHS.

Well, I would say it's good but there are still missing many titles. I
think Nicolas have said that only in Japan there have been over 30 000
titles released. I will be update with some titles and hopefully be
taking a lot of photos for the site. I really would like to have the
backside also on the site.

To my knowledge, the only NTSC release was on CED videodisc.

You can mail them to me to lddb.admin@gmail.com , possibly with the
reference for each title (otherwise I wouldn't know what release it's
exactly). If you create(d) an account on LDDb.com, I could credit you
for the pictures.

Thanks,
Julien

Wow! The CED release blows me away. I have both PAL and NTSC VHS and
have found a PAL LD, but my player doesn't support PAL. :-(

I confirm, around 30.000 LD titles in Japan, that does not include rentals and CDV.
