Power Supply and Motherboard Compatibility

MSI 970A-G46 9 Series AM3+ Motherboard and HEC P485DR Orion 485W Peak Retail Power Supply.
Power Supply has a ATX 24-pin Power connector but no ATX 8-pin Power connector. I am able to connect
to JPWR1 on motherboard, but will not be able to connect to JPWR2 because power supply doesn't have
a ATX 8-pin power connector. JPWR2 provides 12v powr to the CPU. Will the connection with the ATX 24
power connection eliminate the need of a ATX 8-pin power connection to the motherboard?

8-pin connector is required for CPU to work properly, you're better off getting a decent PSU.

Edit: Did you check if your PSU has 8-pin split into 2 4-pins by any chance?

I checked and it doesn't, contacted Tigerdirect and waiting for their information
before making a decision to return or not!
