I'm building a computer system for my brother and I.

Ive never done this before, and got all of this for $500 brand new

For me i've chosen:

Gigabyte Z77-DS3H
I7-3770K
32gb of ram
XFX 6670HD Video Card
500w power source
standard sata hd

should it play games pretty good?

Hi. Have you bought those parts already? Can you list/link/show me the brand and model of the RAM, power supply unit, and hard drive? I wouldn't consider the HD 6670 a gaming card especially for recent demanding titles. What's your monitor resolution, budget for the graphics card, preferred website(s) for parts and what games are you looking to play?

HD 6670 is NOT for gaming. Drop the ram down to 16 gb and/or drop the processor down to an I5 if you need the money and spend about $150 on a GTX 650 ti, or 7750.

You may do Photoshop but a i5 3570k is enough for that.
And 16GB RAM is enough for it

And use the Saved money for a better GPU.
