What is slowing down my pc?

Hi, i'm playing battlefield 3 on ultra settings on 1680x1050 resolution, and all is great BUT i get this drop in fps (20-30 loss from 60-70) during large maps/many buildings/effects.

Could you guys help me out?


pc specs:
psu: 750 watt corsair
cpu: I5-3570k 3.4 ghz ivy bridge
gpu:Zotac 580 3gb amp2 edition
8gb DDR3 ram 1600mhz
Mobo: Asus Sabertooth z77
System drive: kingston 98gb ssd
Storage(Games): Western digital 1TB 7200

And as said a 1680x1050 resolution screen.

Turn down some of the video settings, like Anti-aliasing, Shadows or HBAO.

I'm also using the stock cooler for my i5 since i recently upgraded from amd.

Your specs are Very good.

Maybe your Internet is slow.

Nah, internet is good, 40mbps down 10mbps up.

getting 50 ping on almost all servers, internet connection doesn't affect fps ^^

main issue here is fps drop.

Thats good speed

But if your Internet would have been slow then you may have taken time to Download the Status, Hence would have lost some speed of game.


Maybe you are playing on a Big Map.
You should OC that CPU and check for Difference.
