Having an ATI card alongside an Nvidia card

I am going to be taking a Parallel Programming course at school next semester and the course uses the CUDA framework.

I currently have an ATI Radeon 6950 and I was wondering if there was a way to also pop in a Nvidia card as a "dummy" card for programming purposes. I want to use the ATI card as my video card still and really don't want to swap in and out.

Not a problem if you are using windows 7 or later.
Multiple graphic drivers are ok. No so in the past.

Yep you will be fine, I had a 6850 and a 7900GS in my system for awhile. Ran smooth as silk.
