First time build ~$1500

Approximate Purchase Date: 1-2 weeks

Budget Range: ~$1500 after all taxes/shipping, but willing to go higher if there's a significant increase in performance/value.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (mostly rts), work/programing/office, video editing

Are you buying a monitor: Yes x2 (need dual screen for work)

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon/Newegg but if something else is cheaper I'm ok with it as long as the return policy and service isn't horrible

Location: Boston, MA

Parts Preferences: AMD CPU & GPU

Overclocking: Maybe in the future, but not right now

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future but don't have the budget and i don't think i'll need to

Your Monitor Resolution:1920 x 1080

Additional Comments: I'm not sure on what a "good" power supply is so i haven't added one yet. Also need a keyboard and mouse but I prefer to pick those out at a local store. Also thinking that the FX-8350 is overkill for me, might go down to a FX-6300.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Don't have a desktop and using a five year old laptop for games isn't fun :(

More about first time build 1500
  1. the only thing i see is win 8 as a nasty little booger. That is my opinion..
  2. I haven't decided on win 7 vs. win 8. It's only in there to remind myself to budget for an OS :)
