so i cant decide on whether i should get the gtx msi lightning or the evga gtx 680, could someone give me some input on what card to get?

The MSI version of the 680 is superior it has a far superior cooling system, its also faster then stock.

However that being said I don't think the price warrants the cost. I feel you are better off with the EVGA card for the following reasons. You don't lose anything in terms of performance or anything you could measure. You also get a stronger customer support experience with EVGA they are a more direct NVIDIA supplier so you will have a faster turn around time with RMA's. The only con I can think of is the cooling system on the 680 by EVGA is inferior to any aftermarket cooler out there by ASUS, GIGABYTE, and MSI.

IF you were looking for a superior cooling solution for a cheaper price I would look at possibly the 680 TOP from ASUS.

a wise man i would skip evga as well good customer service don't make up for the shitty cooling the Asus Top is the best 680 imo and professional reviews have proved it. ;)

The superior product would be for sure the TOP version :) And ASUS isn't horrible with customer service just not the best in some cases. I know they are awesome with there Monitors I have heard mixed things with graphics cards over the years but that shouldn't stop you from getting the best you can get really.

Well then I'd possibly look into a 670 with a higher amount of vram. I cross reference this article about skyrim+mods. I think it may be better to look at the 670 with the 4 gigabytes of ram because it places you in the same ballpark as the 680's and you don't see a huge amount of performance increase between the 670 and 680 anyway.

I think your expecting to much if your planing 3D game or run more then one monitor in future you would need sli 670 if you wants to stay at min 60+fps in games like 64 maps bf3 1. Crysis 2, and Crysis Warhead
2. Metro 2033
3. ARMA II.
4. GTA4
5. witcher+ubersampling
6.skyrim+8xSS + mods
7. Alien VS Predator
8.BATMAN ARKHAM CITY +PHYSX
A single 680 or 670 will not cut it.

Ok i have just decided i will get a asus gtx 680 and if im using so much mods that i exseed i will take that as a "your using too many mods dipshit" and if i ever do a eyefinity setup i will just get a second gtx or a 780? if its out, so thanks for the help.

I just got Metro 2033 with the humble bundle game is pretty graphically intense but was expecting more of a graphic drop shrugs my 670 kicked its ass.

If you need more with your mod's I can see the 670 with the 4 GB a decent option. GTA IV is one of those wonky games that has a pretty large ram draw from cards.

Well honestly I would think you would be fine with a single gtx 680 however if the gtx780's are loads better at the time then maybe. With 2k and 4k resolution screens around the corner games may end up going that route but the 680 should last you a pretty darn long time I would think 3 years tops I think in the long term you will probably have to start scaling back on settings after probably 2 years.

No problem.Your welcome! :)
