I just got rid of my ATI 6870 and sell it for $155.. Hope that's a good price to sell.. anyways. I'm planning to earn money for a GTX 660 Ti but i'm kinda scared because it only has 192 bit compared to my old ATI 6870 that has 256 bit.. I want gtx 660 ti because I can get it for about a week but i'm planning to get a gtx 670 too, but it will take more than a month to earn more money.. I'm craving to play battlefield 3 as soon as possible but now I can't because I just got rid of my old gpu

Anyways.... Is 660 ti good or go for 670?
And are there any impacts between a 192 bit compared to a 256 bit? Thanks!!

(Craving to play a game ASAP!.. Got no Money!)

Spec:
Intel core i5 3550
Intel HD 2500 (Currently using it because I got no more graphic card)
Corsair vengeance 8GB 1600
Asus p8h77-m le
Cooler master ughhhh I forgot but it's 600 watts.

670 is better than the 660ti, there's no doubt about it.
But im happy with my purchase (MSI 660TI PE).
Battlefield 3 runs on Ultra without any issues, and it's also easy to OC to almost match the 670 card on stock.
In the end, you get what you pay for. 670>660ti in both price and performance

GTX 660 is just awesome. 7870 is worth but over that GTX 660 and its near to GTX 660 Ti's performance.

So get a 7870 (Although I too have GTX 660).

And that bus interface width doesn't matter at all! Thats just a myth.
Thats only the width of the bus, it doesn't effect anything.

The only difference between GTX 670 and GTX 660 ti is that the GTX 670 has 256 bit while GTX 660 ti has 192 bit.

and 8 less ROPS on GTX 660 ti.

GTX 670 32 - GTX 660 ti 24

Where is your benchmark link then? The one I posted showed the 670 as faster than the 660ti, which supports your point. I post a link supporting the point you're making to others and you attack it???

I don't think there is any up to date.No i was not attacking you.I apologize if you felt that way.I was just correcting it.

192-bit or 256-bit, that number simply does not matter.

What matters is memory bandwidth and being able to keep up with the resolution and options you require.

(higher clocked 192-bit memory can reach 256-bit memory bandwidth)

The 670 definitely has more memory bandwidth, but the 660ti generally has plenty for 1080p with all the trimmings. If you plan on gaming above 1080p, then the 670 or AMD offerings will work out better overall. This doesn't mean the 660ti cannot do these things, only that it does it less well than the cards with larger memory bandwidth.

Memory bandwidth stats for the various cards in this thread

660Ti = 144.2 GB/sec

670 = 192.2 GB/sec

AMD6870 = 134.4 GB/sec

AMD7950 = 240GB/sec

Hey OP, ill give you my 2 cents worth here. I bought a EVGA 660ti OC version today (December 3, 2012) for $250. I Absolutely love it! I played Crysis 2 on MAxed out settings with high res textures on and it never dropped to even a flicker of 59FPS.
I am downloading my BF3 update now and will test it when it is done but i have no doubt ill see similar results as with Cry2. I too was gunna buy a 7950, but then i managed to get a 660ti for $250 so i went with it and so far im not disappointed with my purchase. The fan isnt as loud as my 6870 that died on me 2 days ago either, 60%fan speed and i cant hear it.

Take it from me, buy the 660ti, its worth it. that bandwidth issue mainly deals with higher resolutions of gameplay. If you gon be gaming on 3 monitors or anythin with 2XXX * XXXX resolution get something with higher bandwidth, if you are gunna only be using 1680*1050 or 1920*1080 resolution then the 660ti is definitely enough.

Get the 660ti!

It seems we are in need of recent benchmarks

Given that I'd recommend a 660 ti for $265.As I'm using a MSI 660 Ti PE and I love the performance I get out of the box.

^ Thanks, been looking for a good recent benchmark.

If you want my personal recommendation, get the MSI GTX660Ti PE. You can ofc choose the brand yourself, but i don't regret my purchase at all.
