I saw this burner while I was looking for the advertised Philips x20. Both run at $100, but the Philips was out. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the BUSlink or anything of that nature.

Thanks

Never heard of them - but Liteons are good and cheap.

I can suggest Mitsumi 24X12X40 CDRW (model 4809TE). You can get one for $72 on pricewatch + $8 shipping. I got one to upgrade from a Mitsumi 4X4X24 which ran great but slow. Went from 18 mins to 4mins total burn time of 700MB.

BestBuy's 20-Jan ad has BUSlink x32 burner (RW3240) advertised for $129.99. I can't find anything on this, even on their own website. Not on Pricewatch either. Found it on ibuyer.net but it looks like most are on back order, and all prices are more than what BB is - guess I'll have to stop by and see what info is on the box. Would really like to see some performance data, comparison to the Liteon x32

When I was building my last system, I picked up a 16x BusLink burner for $70 or so, and it works just fine. Zero problems with it.

Course, the computer IDs it as a Lite-On, so I guess that's what it is. Damn good burner for the price at the time, either way.

I saw a buslink 32x at best buy and am wodering if it is a Lite On also. it has identical features and the same name for the buffer under run protection .. if so it is 9 dollars cheaper to get the Lite On from New egg including the shipping ( 112 + 8 )
