Nvidia Geforce GT 630

Hi everyone!

So the question i want to ask is if an Nvidia GeForce GT 630 ( http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4217#ov ) is worth the money?
Is the card good for games like Crysis, Planetside 2, etc. and if the upgrade to a Gt630 from a Gt220 would be noticable in performance and how big would the change be.

These are the current specs of my computer:

PSU: IT sl-500a (500W)
Motherboard: Asus m5a88-m
Ram: Patriot 4Gb 1600MHz (1 stick)
CPU: AMD FX-6100 (6 core, 3,3GHz)
Graphics card: Gigabyte Gt 220 (This is the one i currently have: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3236#ov )

I decided that it was probably the time to upgrade my graphics and i am looking for the best i can get for around 70 € so if anyone has a suggestion for an even better graphics card than the Gt 630 for the price of around 70 € please tell me and help me decide.

Thank you for any advice.

  1. Quick answer, no. The low end card that's recommended now is the Radeon HD 6670, as per tom's recent article.

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-2.html

That 6670 has significantly more performance than a 630, those low end GT cards just don't seem to perform against AMD. If your budget is $90US find a 6670. For another $15US though, you can get a GTX560, the latest generation.

    Good luck.
  2. if u can spend 20 bucks more u can get better than the best card i.e. hd7750.

    That'll work.
  4. Well i looked at the online shops in our country for the Radeon HD 6670 that njxc500 recomended on his post but i cant seem to find the right one. The only one i find is this one http://www.enaa.com/oddelki/racunalnistvo/izd_206_etkw38arrt4t_gigabyte_graficna_kartica_hd_6670__2gb
I dont know if they are acctualy the same thing but just look diffrend because i am pretty inexperienced in buying a graphics card.
  5. Well tY for all the help you are giving me but i was wondering if any of you guys would be prepared to sacrifice a couple of minutes of your time and check out these sites that are in my country and tell me what cards do you recomend i should get for up to 90€ because not all cards are probably in stock and i dont want to mess up again like i did when i bought the GT220 because that card was certanly a waste of my money.

The sites are in Slovene so you would have to translate them with google translate or something like that...i hope im not asking too mutch but i would rly apreciate it.
  6. well ty i guess ill buy that one then.....will the diffrence when playing a game be noticable from now when im playing with a gt220?
  7. Very.
  8. ok tnx for all the help guys. If anyone has any other sugestions then please post them below.
  9. My frend recomended me this card:

    http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=570&pid=259&psn=&lid=1&leg=0

Im probably gonna buy the HD6670 but i still want to know why does he think this card is good...
  10. It might be better but it uses a lot more power in the process and is older tech. As a result, it doesn't support DX11.
  11. Well i was looking at graphics cards today again an i saw that a Asus radeon hd 7750 1Gb GDDR5 (http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/AMD_Series/HD77501GD5/) card is acctualy just 15€ more than a hd6770 and i wouldnt mind paying more to get a mutch better card, but it has a PCIe 3.0 16x.

My motherboard has a PCIe 2.0 16x and i just want to know if the card is compatible with my motherboard or will it cause problems?

PCI-E 3.0 is backwards compatible. Go for it.
