hey guys an gals, i`ve upgraded my rig a little bit over past couple of months and included a sniper 3 with 3 gtx 670`s and an ivy 3770k. Prob i`ve got is, when i enable nvidia surround and dedicate the gtx 260 to phys x everything is fine, until i restart the computer the 260 is gone from nvidia control panel but is still in the device manager. Now here`s the funny thing if i disable my sli/surround and reboot it shows back up again it`s a PIA to be honest and i was wondering if anyone has similar problems.

Latest nvidia drivers also latest bios and the extra sata connector for the 4th gpu is plugged in on the sniper 3, just cant figure out why it disappears on reboot

Any Ideas and cheers in advance guys

The 260 gtx as a physX card the only thing it will do is to bottleneck the tri sli setup of the 670 gtx...

I agree the 260 is going to hurt your performance way more than it will help. Just take it out and save yourself the headache and get a slightly lower electricity bill :)

HEHE i think i`ll just pass it on then man grab another 670 to fill the gap. I thought it might bottleneck the other cards but i fired it in just to see. Anyways guys thanks for the advice i just was`nt to sure what was going on, f**k the electricity bill the wife pays that HAHA. and as i said to her the washing machine uses more leccy than this :D

just a quick question my little brother runs a 2bg 560 on my old board you think the 260 would slow his 560 down? he`s only playing at 1920x1080 and the 560 is kinda weak compared to the newer cards would he benifit from dedicated phys x he plays batman aa and ac constantly?

lol, why do you need so many graphics cards? are you playing at 2560x1440 in 3d or something? lol

Ah i'm playing on 3 dell ultrasharps u2412m's at 6040x1200 res with 1 overclocked gtx 680 (1280Mhz) and can play pretty much anything at max settings and get 50-60 fps. I would think 2 would be plenty, 3 overkill, 4 bragging rights only.

Cant beat bragging rights man, i`ve kept my cards stock atm no need to o/c just yet. i get decent frames in all games aswell don`t get me wrong but with crysis 3 round the corner and a few others i`m looking forward to i may aswell fire another 670 in. i did plan on grabbin 2 690`s to begin with but could`nt find anything in stock for as while so a few 670`s will do just as good a job. tbh i only use this once in a blue moon when i`m not working but i`ve took the 260 out anyways an fired it on e bay, i`ll grab another 670 just after crimbo i thinks

Cheers Again Guys

yes.
running two mid level cards like that would help. as your finding out; running a mid level card as physX with high end cards rendering hurts.
