Would this make any difference

Hi folks, at the moment ive got the 6670 in my system because my old card broke so i just needed a cheap one to keep me going. But I'm looking to buy the 6870 in january.

Question is my motherboard had a PCI-E x16 running at 16x AND a PCI-E x16 running at 4x.

The 6870 is obviously going in the 16x slot but would it make any difference putting the 6670 in the 4x??

You would only use both slots if you were running crossfire or sli. If only using one slot use the x16, its faster. You can not run both of those cards at the same time.
