I finally put a SCSI CD rom (player) into my system. The problem is, if there is any CD in the drive, bootable or not, that computer hangs up when the SCSI card reaches it's ID number. I have to remove the disk and control-alt-delete to get going.
I have a Tekram U3W card and have poked around at the configuration a bit to no avail. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

My SCSI CD-ROM takes about 15 seconds to check any CD in the drive to see if it's bootable. Yours may take longer, but after determining a CD is NOT bootable, it should allow you to proceed.
Don't SCSI controllers boot from the first bootable device (lowest numbered)? Couldn't you change drive numbers to have the controller not check the CD-ROM at all?

What's the frequency, Kenneth?
