7950 vs. GTX 670

The GTX 670 is $100 dearer and my system i am building is on a very tight budget, already had to downgrade Z77 to H77 and i5 3570k to 3570. Is the extra $100 worth it for the 670 over the 7950?

nope. The performance between the 2 is very small.

This plays out to AMD's advantage. At 1920x1200 the GeForce GTX 670 is 12% faster than the Radeon HD 7950 and just 2% faster than the 7950 Boost. However the GTX 670 is 27% more expensive than both cards, so whichever way you slice it the Radeon HD 7950 Boost is the better proposition and things just get worse for the GTX 670 as the resolution is increased.

It's hard to say both are great cards if your on a budget get the 7950

If you are not planning on playing a lot of 3D, then get the 7950. The performance in both of them is almost similar.

The 670 has some extras such as PhysX and better 3D support.

First of all, don't get a K processor with a H77. It's useless. Either get Z77 + 3570K or get H77 +3570 (non-K).
Z77 + 3570K + HD7950 , if you plan to overclock

OR

H77 + 3570 (non K) + HD7970, if you don't plan to overclock

Both will cost you roughly the same money.

I said that I was downgrading my k edition to non-k edition, and as cuecuemore said "close reading"
