Can I use my PCI-E 3 card with my Nehalem processor?

I have an older Intel Nehalem i7 on an EVGA x58 motherboard. I just bought a GTX 670 FTW+ (a PCI-E 3 card). I plan on building the rest of the computer later, and while I wait for more funds, can I use this card in my current system?
