I've got a 4 year old Compaq Presario 1675 laptop (AMD K6-2 380 Mhz processor, 192 MB RAM, 6GB hard drive) that is getting too slow to run the new applications that I want, but I don't want to spend $2000+ for a new one. Is it possible and/or worth my time to try and upgrade it? Does anyone know of any how-to guides I could look at? My main concerns (aside from cost and preformance increase) are how can I be sure my new parts will fit in the laptop, and cooling the new processor. Also, where can I get laptop parts?

Well, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get a new hard drive, since I think most of laptop drives are standart size and interface, just like our desktop hard drives.
Memory, maybe you can add some to the extend that you mb supports.
I think that replacing cpu and board will be quite impossible..
(Hey, but I may be completely mistaken)
