Hi, I'll have to buy a new pc till the end of January. My needs are a very capable computer for running algorithm optimisation, projections and other processor intensive uses. Also I'd like it to be more than an average computer for the latest games so it could run them with high settings ( 1 monitor to play games and not 2 or 4 since it requires a lot more money) . For the moment I'll use 2 monitors but will upgrade to 4 in the next few months, by then I plan to buy another graphic card and crossfire/sli with the existing one, I also plan to add another 16gb of memory to this configuration.

the setup:

Case: ? maybe the NZXT Source 220
ssd: Samsung 840 256gb
GPU: VTX3D Radeon HD 7850 X-Edition - 1 GB
CPU: Intel 3770k
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4
Memory: G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB 1600
PSU: Antec EA 750 Green 750W

My mains questions regarding this setup are:

1. is everything compatible?
2. Will it fit on the case? any other case suggestions (40$-70$)?
3. Is this PSU an overkill? better go for a XFX Pro 550w instead?
4. Is the GPU (with just 1gb) enough to manage 2 monitors without problems?

Thanks in advance

are you going to OC? if not, get xeon from i7 ivy bridge family
cheaper because of no iGPU and no OC. xeon quality

ssd: Samsung 840 256gb
can you afford 840 pro? if not, get 830 instead :)

PSU: Antec EA 750 Green 750W
yes xfx 550/650 :)

What is your budget and monitors resolutions?

@amd radeon: I'll not OC now but I wouldn't exclude it in the future. Regarding the SSD I meant Samsung 840 Pro :sarcastic:  I'll correct it.

@jemm: My budget is in euros, so around 950€.. let's say about 1000$. The resolution of the monitors are 22'

22" is the monitor dimension, but most of the 22" ones are 1080p resolution, so you´re good.

The NZXT Source 220 is not a bad case at all -- I will give you more options to look at:

NZXT Apollo Black
Antec Three Hundred Illusion

As ´amd radeon´ stated above, if you can´t get the Samsung 840 Pro, then go with Samsung 830.

The Samsung 840 uses TLC NAND, while the Samsung 830 use MLC NAND, which is better as it is faster and doesn´t wear out fast as the TLC NAND ones.

CPU, GPU and Memory you´ve chosen are all good -- I´d get the 2GB version of the Radeon HD 7850 tough.

As you want to 2xSLI in the future, and you´ve picked a ´K´ CPU, which is intended to be overclocked, then you may need a bit more wattage, perhaps a 850W PSU would give you some more room under heavy load.
