Hello, I am trying to decide between 2 GTX 670's in SLI or a single GTX 680 Lightning edition. I already know either setup is fine to run any game at ultra settings no problem on a single 1080p monitor. What I want to know, is which one has the best value (not only fps/dollar, but its ability to retain that ability to run most games on ultra for the foreseeable future). I have already done adequate research on both to discover that both are compatible with my setup. So, I ask, which would you recommend?

it all depends on if you intend to 3D game or run more then one monitor in future if so you would need sli 670 if you want to get 60+fps in games like 64 maps bf3 1. Crysis 2, and Crysis Warhead
2. Metro 2033
3. ARMA II.
4. GTA4
5. witcher+ubersampling
6.skyrim+8xSS + mods
7. Alien VS Predator
8.BATMAN ARKHAM CITY +PHYSX

For the forseeable future I plan on running a 2-d setup (I wear perscription glasses so 3D glasses wont work from what I've been told) and I plan on running one main gaming monitor and possibly a second for non-demanding use like web browsing and youtube.

As long as your not expecting 60+fps in games like 64 maps bf3 1. Crysis 2, and Crysis Warhead
2. Metro 2033
3. ARMA II.
4. GTA4
5. witcher+ubersampling
6.skyrim+8xSS + mods
7. Alien VS Predator
8.BATMAN ARKHAM CITY +PHYSX a single 680 or 670 will do

1- metro 2033 is a poor optimized game for any single card, just run on high and you'll get 60 fps.
2- arma 2 runs @ 60 fps, depends on the settings.
3- GTA4 does not support multi gpu(SLI or crossfire), a single gpu will do the same.
3-Witcher 2 performs good without ubersampling, gets 60 fps not necessary such thing that kills fps.
4- skryim runs well with mods @ 1080p 60 fps
The others the same thing...
