My PC is acting weird, I built a new pc recently and I seem to have an issue with the computer booting and something tells me its the PSU. My Problem is that the computer wont display and usb input does not work (no connection status on logitech keyboard) when I first turn on the pc. To get the PC to work, I just turn it off and then back on quickly - then everything is 100% working, temps for cpu, gpu and everything else is fine. I went down the list of PSU and boot problems checklist - I removed the standoffs that were short circuiting my mobo - could something have happened in that time? Also I am running
Asrock 970 Extreme 3 mobo
FX 8120 - stock cpu fan (Not overclocked - 3.1 GHz) (seems to go to really high rpm -- could it be sucking up too much power at the beginning)
32 gbs of corsair vengeance 1600 ram (tried one stick - two sticks and four -- no luck and seems to be unrelated to memory)
1 TB caviar black HDD - brand new (prolly not the problem)
ATI Radeon 4890 XT XFX - 1 GB ddr5 -- works fine when pc is powered on quickly (second power up)
BIOS is at the latest firmware
All drivers are updated to latest versions
Catalyst firmware updated for GPU.
PSU is the Corsair TX 950 W (Overkill for my rig but is flexible if ever I want to overclock and water cool and add second gpu).
the corsair psu is not old and like I said it works perfect after second power up, should I be even worried? -- could something have happened due to the standoffs and short circuiting and my rig is permanently like this?
thanks to whom ever can help me with this problem.
