Floppy Disk Failure (40)

I recently replaced pretty much everything in my kids PC, new K7 motherboard, CPU, memory, hd, cd/rw, etc.... I am getting a message on boot up saying Floppy disk(s) fail (40), press F1 to continue, DEL to enter setup. If I say continue, I get a message saying DISK I/O Error, replace disk and press (enter or any key, I'm not sure??). Any ideas ?

Borrows a fatburger post.....

If the light is on all the time, then the cable is plugged in backwards.

Quarter Pounder Inside

Also check the BIOS settings match the physical device, & if the floppy is on a cable with connectors for more than one device, it must be on the last connector.
