What is my system bottleneck?

MEMORY: 4GB x2 Patriot G2 DDR3 1333mhz
GPU: EVGA GTX 590 Classified

My system just seems like it could run a bit smoother. My GPU seems to freeze alot and my games will crash. Everything is less than a year old.

there is no reason games should be freezing with that GPU is it overclocked? if it is try turning it down a bit
also the bottleneck would be your cpu

I've read that my motherboard won't allow that. other than that, is there anything else? I have an aftermarket cooler that keeps my cpu 17-25c

nothing is overclocked

OC your cpu. Even on stock cooler you should be able to get a bit more out of it, I oc'd my i3 530 400mhz on the stock cooler. It's very simple to oc, just look up a few guides.
