So i have been having some issues with my computer where i am getting like 30-60fps in bf3 20-50 in crysis2 and bad fps in a lot of games... I have been trying to fix this for quite some time and if you have any ideas what is causing the problem or how to check what it is please give a suggestion.

anyways
MY COMPUTER
Case
HAF 912
PSU
850W corsair enthusiast series
GPU
GTX 670 MSI lighting edition(1241[in game using msi afterburner counter]/3500)
CPU
FX-8120(4.7Ghz)
MOBO
Gigabyte GA-970a-UD3
RAM
2x4GB 1333mhz
DVD Driver
Regular drive
HDD
Caviar Black 1TB
Heatsink
Hyper212+

in heaven all the options are maxed and im getting
min-21.5
max-126(somewhere around here)
avg-didnt look
score-1247

any ideas on whether this is bad or good?

note:
a few things that may be causing the problem in my games

need an ssd because the caviar black is not powerfull enough,
need a new cpu(3570k),
some component is messed up,
the gtx was just a fat lie on its amazing performance :(

THANK YOU FOR YOU HELP! :D

LMAO.So you think if you would have bought ATI 7970 your system would have performed like a beast? What res you are running?oh yeah SSD won't improve your FPS.You will also be very shocked after buying that.Just saying..

1st a 670 isn't quite powerful enough to max all settings on all games and get high frame rates.

2nd if u are playing BF3 multiplayer, that CPU is not really going to help that much. It's actually prly hurting u. AMD's architecture is nothing compared to the I5's and I7's. BF3 in multiplayer is way CPU heavy, with up to 64 players at a time... Single player, is all GPU though. Maybe see ur FPS in single player to get a better estimate on ur GPU.

+1 for weak CPU.

If you oc that 670 it will be on about par with an oc'd 680 give or take a few frames.

did msi ever correct the overvolting problem?
Not that i am aware of their claiming it is not a issue and it's backed by three year warranty lol.

first off,
THANK YOU ALL!!
for helping me :D  really I truly appreciate it

ok
Cooldude,
no I don't think that at all, all im saying is that the low frames is confusing me

Russk1,
Thank you... so you think that my gpu is not defective?

ittimjones,
OK I se what you mean but I spent over 400 dollars on this(a lot too me because im 15 and do not have a job) and I heard that bf3 ultra I could at least stay above 50(maybe 40 when it get tough)
I see what you mean with the bad cpu... I mean the only strang thing is that in cryisis 2 I get shitty fps(low) and the gpu is at like 97% :/

Darth Pravus,
Yeah, I have overclocked it quite a bit... hope its not defective, also is my score(overclocke by the way that score is when the core a +65 and mem +500) equal or about the same as a 680?

Bigcyco1,
Yeah though my gpu I at 97% which is strange but its strangely laggy even when im at like 50fps so that's whyim thinking it may be the hdd or something... though im definitely upgrading cpu's just wondering if I should upgrade anything else

Overall thanks for the great replys and help guys! :D

yeah, but what about my low performance? im getting 20-50 in crysis 2 which in the video as you can see i should be getting WAY more and a lot more stable

What is your resolution? Do you use any mods? Are you forcing AA on?

Being critical of the video:

It says 1920x1080 in the video but never actually shows the settings via the games graphics settings. Further, the YT video itself only goes up to 720p.

It's your cpu it has to be man. Edit- BTW 1920x1080 resolution, ULTRA detail with DX11 and High res texture pack enabled´╗┐ ;)
December 8, 2012 1:36:42 PM

yeah, im just 1920x1080... one thing that is very strange is in bf3 when i overclock my card the fps goes down

If you are getting between 20-50 FPS in Crysis 2, something is wrong. You have a pretty extreme OC on that CPU, and experiencing a loss in performance as you OC the card, that makes me wonder if the PSU is not enough. Try backing off your OC's. Go stock on the GPU and drop the CPU OC down to 4.0 and see how it does.

You would think so, but as you increased the OC, you lost FPS, that would suggest otherwise. The other possibility is that you increase your DDR5 memory too high, which causes errors, and the error handling has caused it to slow down.

That CPU OC is quite high and will draw a ton more power than normal.
December 9, 2012 1:51:11 AM

yeah i know, but i mean im over 400 watts then what is need... if one cpu pulls 400 watts more than normal then you better call jesus

You should just lower the OC a bit, drop it down to 4.0Ghz. Test and see how it does. You may find that will up your performance. There comes a point where an OC can be too high.

This is a friend of a friend of mine he actually ran quite a few benchmarks of his card when you feel up to it watch them see if his results are like yours bud.I know both my cards preform a bit not a lot better.P.S. Ignore them they can not help it pretty much dorks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQi95JdHlog
