My Acer Aspire one D257 will not restore. Error code is 0x8007191. All desktop icons when clicked go to "notepad" and "notepad" showing for everything to the left except for internet explorer. I have tried restore 6 times but it just comes back with. Bottom right hand icons still normal...files can be accessed through start docs. pics, etc. I have backed up to a remote drive all files for safety but just cannot get system or files to restore.

The error code has just changed to the above.
Any ideas please. It happened when I went to look in notepad for a document...it would not open. I did nothing else,
Thank you and sorry for the long convoluted question. I am sending this from a different lap top to the one that is malfunctioning.
