W530 not recognizing monitor model on display port. So it sets the resolution ve

W530 Laptop is not recognizing the monitor model when connected on display port (selectes generic Non PnP Monitor Driver). So it sets the resolution very low(1024x768). But if I connect the same monitor on VGA port it detects the monitor model and sets it to the highest possible resolution(1920x1080). The monitor is ASUS 248h.

Must be the DP to DVI adapter your using.

Thanks for replying to my question. I am using Belkin's Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. May be this particular adapter has a problem or it could be this model itself.
