HELP!! HD 6850 Won't work ;_;

Okay, so I got a new VTX3d hd 6850 and it just won't work! It just gives me a black screen gives the starting beep and acts like it going fine when there's a black screen.
I tried putting my cable on the top and bottom slots for dvi.(i'm using a vga to dvi adapter is that why?)

specs:
MoBo: gigabyte GA-MA74GM SH2
PSU: 3BON ATX 500w Dual 12V v2.2

I put the 6pin connecter too.

PS: i brought it for the device itself only(no drive cd, dvi cable,booklet,etc)
