Are these pre-built PC's? You can build yourself with better and more balanced specs and even save more money.

This is a custom build from evetech.co.za

Are there specs above that you would advise against?

Please note I am from South Africa so pricing is higher due to import duties etc.

1 is way more reasonable than 2. the 7770 can play games, theres just a few handful where things wont be maxed, but it will run the game regardless. If a gpu passess the minimum requirements of the upcoming Crysis 3 game, then there probably isnt a game it wont run, at the least.(unless your playing some DOS based games on a 64bit OS or something)

Ok that's great

If I had to try improve anywhere, what should I add?

if you are going with 1, the only thing i have to say is that once you have the build, it cant be easily upgraded, BUT at the least its possible to technially crossfire on a 16x/4x mobo if one would ever need to. But for your use, If you can get your hands on a solid state drive, You will probably love the speed boost(using it as boot drive as well as Intel Rapid Storage Cacheing). that's probably my only open recommendation.
